Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and safety-focused Outdoor Forklift Material Handlers to join a distribution team supporting utility operations in Odessa, TX. This position works primarily in an outdoor yard environment, handling inventory, picking and packing orders, and loading or unloading materials using both manual labor and a standard forklift. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outside in the Texas heat, has experience with warehouse or yard operations, and is committed to accuracy, productivity, and safety.

This position works a consistent Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm work schedule 80% outside, 20% inside. When in “Storm Mode” this site runs 24/7 working 12-hour shifts Monday-Sunday including holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a standard sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and stage palletized materials.  
• Pick and pack customer orders by hand from open pallets using paper pick tickets.  
• Transport full pallets of inventory throughout the yard and prepare shipments for delivery.  
• Load palletized materials into enclosed trailers and customer vehicles.  
• Verify inventory quantities and ensure accurate order fulfillment.  
• Organize and maintain inventory within the outdoor storage yard.  
• Inspect forklifts before each shift and report equipment issues promptly.  
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.  
• Assist with general warehouse and yard duties as assigned.

Requirements:  

• Previous forklift experience is preferred (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck)
• Warehouse, distribution, or material handling experience is highly preferred.  
• Experience with order picking and packing using paper pick tickets is a plus.  
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to heat.  
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate inventory handling.  
• Basic math and reading skills for order verification.
• Must have a consistent work history  

Schedule:  

• Monday-Friday | 7:00 am – 4:00 pm

Compensation:

• $18.50 per hour
