About The Opportunity

As a Medical Support Assistant (MSA), you will play a vital role in helping Veterans receive timely, coordinated healthcare services. The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) will support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, coordinating consults, and providing exceptional customer service to Veterans and healthcare staff alike.

Schedule

• Full-time opportunities available
• Day shifts and varying clinic schedules based on operational needs
• Flexible and dependable candidates highly preferred

 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule Veteran patient appointments
• Manage consults, referrals, and follow-up care coordination
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
• Assist with patient check-in/check-out procedures
• Support clinic flow and provider scheduling
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information
• Provide administrative support to healthcare teams
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and VA confidentiality standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior medical office, healthcare administration, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred
• Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare environments strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• EMR/EHR experience preferred
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills required

Preferred Experience

• Prior VA or federal healthcare experience
• Experience with VistA, CPRS, Cerner, or VA-related systems
• High-volume patient scheduling and consult coordination experience
