Joining our team means more than taking a job-you'll be a critical link between our clinics, resource centers, and patients, ensuring medically vulnerable individuals receive timely, compassionate care.Position OverviewThe Medical Support EMT is a key member of the Outreach Support Team, acting as a liaison between FSC clinics, resource center staff, and patients to address same-day or urgent medical needs. This role differs from traditional EMT positions, requiring strong clinical skills, certifications, and the ability to navigate complex patient care scenarios. The Medical Support EMT collaborates with shelter staff, clinic providers, and onsite medical personnel to respond to emergent or acute health needs and communicates with FSC triage staff to coordinate appropriate healthcare interventions.Core ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly to same-day and urgent medical needs at resource centers throughout Salt Lake CountyCollaborate with shelter staff, clinic medical providers, and other medical personnel to assess and address patient needsServe as a liaison between FSC clinics and patients, ensuring continuity of care and follow-upProvide direct patient care in alignment with EMT training and certification standardsCommunicate effectively with triage and clinical teams regarding patient status, needs, and care optionsSupport outreach and community health initiatives to improve access to healthcare for medically vulnerable populationsMaintain compliance with FSC policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare regulationsDocument patient interactions and interventions accurately and promptlyQualificationsRequired:Current EMT certification and experience in medical clinic or community healthcare settingsStrong clinical, communication, and relationship-building skillsExperience working with medically vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessnessAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-cultural, outreach-focused environmentPreferred:Bilingual in English and SpanishPrior experience in community health, outreach, or case managementCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary100% employer-paid individual medical insuranceAffordable dental & vision coverageHealth Savings Account (HSA) with company matchCompany-paid Life & Long-Term Disability insurance401(k) with 3% employer contribution plus dollar-for-dollar match up to 2%Generous paid time-off, 13 holidays, 2 personal days, and 2 wellness daysTuition reimbursement and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Why Join Fourth Street Clinic?Fourth Street Clinic improves health outcomes for Utahns experiencing homelessness through high-quality, trauma-informed, integrated care.
