Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift, Float Pool

Location: Bethlehem, PA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with weekend rotation required every other week.

Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist will work within the Float Pool, providing flexible support across Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings. This role is vital in facilitating respiratory care and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through specialized interventions and therapies.

Responsibilities:

• Administer aerosol therapies and medications as prescribed.
• Assist with intubation and extubation processes as needed.
• Manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene interventions.
• Carry out arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
• Collaborate with medical teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and equipment use.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.
• Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and RRT.
• Experience with Epic charting preferred.
