PAC Coordinator- Part-Time

Part-Time Performing Arts Center CoordinatorMarquardt School District 15 is accepting applications for a Part-Time Performing Arts Center Coordinator, for the PAC at Marquardt Middle School. The Performing Arts Center (PAC) Coordinator oversees the daily operations, scheduling, and technical support of the Marquardt Middle School Performing Arts Center. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high-quality technical production for school performances, meetings, and community events through the operation and maintenance of the PAC's audio, lighting, video, projection, and live-streaming systems. This position serves as the primary contact for all PAC events and collaborates with district staff, students, volunteers, community organizations, custodial staff, and outside vendors to ensure events are professionally executed. This is a part-time position requiring up to 20 hours per week. Due to the nature of the position, the employee must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on district performances, rehearsals, meetings, and community facility rentals. Evening and weekend availability is an essential function of this position.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Associate's degree or technical training in theater production, audio/visual technology, media production, or related field preferred.Experience supporting live events, theatrical productions, or audiovisual systems preferred.Demonstrated ability to learn and operate technical equipment.Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent customer service.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of live audio, lighting, video, and projection systems.Ability to troubleshoot technical equipment in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously.Ability to collaborate effectively with district staff, students, volunteers, and community organizations.Strong customer service skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.Essential ResponsibilitiesEvent Coordination & Facility OperationsCoordinate scheduling, logistics, and technical preparation for all PAC events.Serve as the primary point of contact for district staff and approved community organizations utilizing the PAC.Coordinate event setup, staffing, technical support, and facility readiness.Communicate with custodial, maintenance, technology, and security staff regarding event needs.Ensure the facility is restored following each event.Maintain the PAC event calendar.Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology.Technical OperationsOperate digital sound systems, microphones, speakers, and audio consoles for performances and events.Program and operate theatrical lighting systems and lighting consoles.Operate video projection and multimedia presentation systems.Operate and troubleshoot live-streaming and video recording equipment.Conduct equipment testing prior to all scheduled events.Assist with setup and teardown of technical equipment.Troubleshoot technical issues before and during events.Ensure safe operation of all technical equipment.Equipment MaintenanceMonitor and maintain lighting, audio, video, projection, and streaming equipment.Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.Maintain inventory and organization of all technical equipment and storage areas.Recommend equipment replacements and upgrades when appropriate.TrainingThe District will provide comprehensive training on all Performing Arts Center systems including:Audio consoleLighting control systemVideo switcherProjection systemLive-streaming softwareDistrict event proceduresPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, taste, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent repetitive activities including hands, arms, and legs for clerical related work. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds in the physical assistance of students with special needs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside but could occasionally be outside and is subject to noises associated with an educational environment both indoors and outdoors that is deemed moderate. The employee works in an educational setting with children of varying ages and abilities and is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students. Duties may be performed in libraries, cafeterias, parking lots, gymnasiums, auditoriums, hallways, and on field trips away from the school.The majority of scheduled work hours occur outside of the regular student instructional day.
