About the Position

Job Title: Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Neurointerventional Radiologic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (7:30 am - 6:00 pm) Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Client license as Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: Neurointerventional experience Description: The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in neurointerventional services. Procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. The technologist provides technical support for all interventional and neurointerventional procedures. This includes discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations. Clinical assistance is provided, both sterile and non-sterile, for neurointerventional procedures including tumor embolization, epistaxis, and spinal lesions. The technologist operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols. Ensuring proper safety standards and adherence to radiation safety practices is crucial. Instruction may be provided to students and residents, and preceptor duties may be performed when necessary. Quality assurance checks on equipment are conducted regularly. The technologist assists in maintaining supply inventory for all procedures. Utilization of information systems for scheduling procedures is expected. The technologist reviews coding procedures for accurate billing of all neurointerventional and interventional procedures. Continuous learning is encouraged by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings. All clinical principles, methods, and procedures are adhered to while performing or supervising procedures. Patient and hospital information confidentiality must be maintained. Compliance with all policies and procedures, particularly incident reporting, is required. Other related duties may be performed as required.
