SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

The primary purpose of this position is to manage centralized equipment management processes throughout the AF enterprise. Responsibilities include support for all AF weapon systems and ground support equipment assets for global logistics/supply accounts. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- Plans, develops, and conducts analyses of supply processes and resultant data to determine the health of all fleet weapon systems, simplify supply processes and maximize resource utilization.
- Prepares recurring and special reports.
- Conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
- Must complete initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s)

- Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
- This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- This position may require drug testing; the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Employee must maintain current certifications

- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

- This position may require travel.
- This position may require employee to work under adverse environmental conditions for short periods of time during infrequent TDY site visits.
- Knowledge of supply management systems, principles, concepts, policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods.
- Knowledge of logistics management principles, concepts, policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system.
- Knowledge and skills to prepare and present effective oral and written presentations, and to deal effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems.
- Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
- Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
