Job Title

Summary of the Position

The Dispatch and Communication Operator operates the phone system, directs visitors, answers questions for various constituents, and organizes and distributes mail. This position is for 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Wednesday and 8 am to 12 am Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate the main phone system and communications station and direct incoming calls to the appropriate location.
2. Greet and direct visitors
3. Serve as mail room attendant, manage mail incoming and exiting
4. Use communications tools to assist in the management of campus safety and security
5. Operate FM band radio to direct Campus Supervisors to emergencies or tasks that require their attention
6. Complete required documentation

Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements - Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds

Physical Requirements - Required to sit for long periods of time

Work Location: This position works in the foyer of the administrative building.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule, including midnight shifts.
3. Basic computer knowledge
4. Must be organized and have good communication skills
