Safety Specialist

Description Position Code: SAFE1 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: G-2 Career Level: Individual Contributor Job Type: Full-Time Travel: As required Reports To: Environmental Health & Safety Manager 1.0 POSITION SUMMARY The Safety Specialist supports a zero-harm culture by administering safety programs, conducting inspections and training, and driving compliance with OSHA and company EHS standards across the facility. 2.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Programs & Compliance Conduct facility inspections, hazard assessments, and job-safety analyses. Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training to employees. Manage PPE, SDS, and lockout/tagout program elements. Continuous Improvement Track leading and lagging safety indicators and report trends. Partner with supervisors to close findings and reduce risk. Support emergency-response and drill programs. 3.0 QUALIFICATIONS Required Knowledge of OSHA general-industry standards. Experience with inspections, JSAs, and incident investigation. Strong communication and training skills. Recordkeeping and follow-through discipline. Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility. Dependable attendance. Preferred OSHA 30 / safety certification (e.g., ASP/CSP track). Manufacturing EHS experience. Bilingual English/Spanish. 4.0 REPORTING STRUCTURE Reports To: Environmental Health & Safety Manager Reports to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager. 5.0 COMPENSATION & PAY BAND Assigned Pay Grade: G-2 (Hourly or Salary) Incentive Guideline: EIP — 2% governance guideline (no individual target currently assigned) Specific salary ranges are defined separately in the controlled Spike Electric Pay Band Structure and are not published on this job description.
