The Per Diem Pharmacist will have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise by evaluating and interpreting medication orders, compounding, and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards. You will play a critical role in identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care. Through the application of evidence-based protocols, you will promote clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing the standard of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacy Location: This per diem position will cover pharmacy shifts at WellSpan Carlisle, Shrewsbury, and Newberry Hospitals. Schedule: Provides PTO coverage for existing pharmacists. Shifts are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Together, these community hospitals provide a broad range of services, including emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, surgical procedures, and specialty care, while maintaining a solid focus on safety, innovation, and compassionate treatment. Backed by WellSpan's resources and clinical expertise, these facilities collaborate to ensure seamless coordination of care, advanced treatment options, and improved health outcomes for patients across the region. Primary Responsibilities:- Evaluate and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
- Dispense prescriptions in compliance with legal and professional standards
- Identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related issues to promote patient safety
- Apply evidence-based protocols to support clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize individualized patient care plans
- Maintain regulatory compliance and uphold pharmacy operational standards
- ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
- Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing
- Some hospital experience
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
