It is a full‑time position averaging 36‑40 hours per week with full‑time benefits. This position will be located at (Altercare Somerset 411 S. Columbus St. Somerset, OH 43783). Position Responsibilities for a Counselor Conducts diagnostic assessments/updates, develops/revises/implements individualized treatment plans, and provides individual and/or group therapy to residents of nursing homes. Utilizes outcomes tools to monitor effectiveness of treatment. Consults and collaborates with other interdisciplinary staff as needed. Maintains active licensure to practice as a counselor or social worker. Essential Skills and Behaviors Demonstrates solid therapeutic and evaluating skills, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and positive problem‑solving skills. Abides by the EncompassCare and/or professional code of ethics. Education/Experience: Requires an active state license to practice as a social worker or professional counselor in Ohio. Experience in providing counseling/therapy services to older adults preferred but not required.
