Registered Dietitian (RD)- Contract Consultant

Overview DiningRD is actively seeking a Registered Dietitian for a Behavioral Health Facility. The consultant would be responsible for 40 hours a month onsite visits to complete food safety and sanitation audit, meal/dining observation audit, and any nutrition referrals for high-risk residents. Responsibilities Provide food safety and sanitation audits, meal/dining observation audits, and nutrition referrals for high-risk residents (40 hours per month onsite). Work closely with the clinical team to monitor residents\' nutritional needs and ensure meals meet high nutritional standards. Provide nutrition education, contribute to MDS processes with input from the dining manager, and formulate nutrition assessments as part of the care plan. Offer guidance on dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices, and ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Train and mentor dining managers and staff, assist with policy development, and monitor the implementation of effective nutritional care systems. Collaborate with the eating and dining team to support a positive, compliant, and high-quality dining environment for residents. Qualifications Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentials Licensed (if required by state) Experience: 2 years of consulting experience preferred; long-term care experience preferred but not required Work Schedule This position offers some flexibility within a Monday–Friday schedule.
