JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Café Assistant Manager

Salary: $42k–$52k per year(based on experience)

Job Summary

The Café Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations to ensure a smooth, profitable, and guest-focused experience. This role includes leading and developing the team, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, achieving sales and labor targets, and fostering a positive, motivating work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and engage crew members, customers, and vendors to maintain a positive, welcoming café atmosphere.
Recruit, interview, hire, and train new team members to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Oversee daily operations, including food preparation, guest service, and cleanliness throughout the café.
Manage inventory, place product orders, and reconcile invoices accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and brand standards while driving sales and controlling costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of Manager experience in a restaurant setting.
Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States in accordance with state and federal laws.
ServSafe Certified or willing to obtain certification.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must own a personal vehicle and carry valid auto liability insurance.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.
Must be available to work a 45 hour workweek, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to be on call for after hour issues or emergencies.

Preferred Experience

2+ years of experience in the food and restaurant industry in a Management or similar leadership role.
