Duration: 6-12+ Months Contract Location: Santa Clara, CA (5D Onsite)

Must Have Skills:

• Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in hardware/mechanism design and development of vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, vacuum isolation technologies, and support equipment
• Preferred experience in the semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment space with knowledge of semiconductor
• Work with OEM suppliers to specify, develop, & document components required for hardware functionality

Good To Have Skills:

• Interface with multiple design and manufacturing engineering disciplines to specify, design, develop and commercialize semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment

Detailed Job Description:

Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in hardware/mechanism design and development of vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, vacuum isolation technologies, and support equipment. Capable of executing full range of design activity from concept generation, 3D CAD design using Unigraphics NX & TCE software, OEM component selection and/or specification development and documentation of Build-to-Print components and assemblies using PMI/MBD. Preferred experience in the semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment space with knowledge of semiconductor fabrication physics, processes, & materials. Works independently, receives guidance in only moderately complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret sub-system level functional requirements to define, design, & develop cost effective hardware solutions.
• Execute significantly complex design projects having a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, control systems, and software design, which are leading edge of system functionality or technology.
• Interface with multiple design and manufacturing engineering disciplines to specify, design, develop and commercialize semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment.
• Concept generation, detailed design and documentation and/or specification development and documentation of Build-to-Print components and assemblies using Unigraphics NX & TCE software.
• Work with OEM suppliers to specify, develop, & document components required for hardware functionality.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree

Onsite, in-office work space collaborating with Applied Materials engineering colleagues
