Project Director, LATAM

Position Summary The DSV Contract Logistics Project Director Latin America is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers to deliver company projects successfully, including internally devised major initiatives and new business implementations. The role has dotted line responsibility for the LATAM project management team that reports into each country’s leadership. Responsibilities are segmented into Project Management Execution, Team Leadership, and other department leadership duties. Project Management Execution Drive execution of DSV Quality Planning as the cornerstone of project initiation. Ensure adherence to department standard approach and toolsets to deliver Scope, Budget, and Timeline, ultimately launching each project successfully. Monitor scheduling and execution of tollgate meetings per the standard project approach and individual project plans. Steer communication plans for each project, maintaining consistency and thorough status reporting internally to DSV and externally to clients. Act as first point of escalation and approval for Project Management change control, ensuring proper documentation and justification for changes. Align the DSV project approach toolset standards across the assigned team of Project Managers. Support Business Development, Solution Design, and other requesting departments with estimated project timelines and startup cost validation based on specific scope as needed. Team Leadership Provide oversight and guidance to the LATAM Project Management teams. Plan and track work content for PMs in concert with their direct line managers, managing project assignments throughout the year and forecasting bandwidth based on regular updates to current consumption and projections based on project pipeline. Drive internal department CIP initiatives for NA Project Management and contribute to CI initiatives for the Project Management and Training department as a whole. Deliver regular feedback and coaching to Project Managers individually, and conduct formal performance reviews semi‑annually. Manage opportunities for professional development (team and individual). Education and/or Experience Four‑year degree is a basic requirement (Industrial Engineering or Business Management preferred). Minimum of 10 years of job‑related/relevant experience in a leadership role. Minimum of 10 years Logistics/Supply Chain Industry experience. Other Maintain regular communication with functional counterparts (especially from A&I, Engineering, Operations, and Operations Support) on project delivery feedback and improvement opportunities. Lead a bi‑weekly cadence of Senior Leadership‑level project status reporting for LATAM projects. Act as department leader in the absence of the Senior Director PM&T when required. Act as delegate project tollgate approver for the Senior Director PM&T when required. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support special projects, implementations, process improvements, etc. Experience dealing with end users, vendors and clients. Experience in 3PL environment, specifically in project delivery. Supervisory Responsibilities Indirect management of department staff, assignments, and work content. Performance evaluations of project management staff. Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Vizio. Knowledge of WMS functionality. Certificates & Licenses NA Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal); Spanish highly desired. Interpersonal communication and language skills (e.g., listening to others, speaking to others, reading, writing). Facilitation skills and mature communication skills to engage all levels in the organization. Mathematical Skills Good mathematical skills. Physical Demands Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21‑50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel. Other Physical Requirements The employee uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel by plane and automobile. Work Environment The employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Compensation and Benefits For this position, the expected base pay range is $160,000.00 – $175,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
