Peer Support Specialist.

Position Overview The Peer Support Specialist will provide coordinated, trauma‑informed, strength‑based peer services to individuals living with HIV, working collaboratively with community organizations throughout the Denver Metro area. The role supports clients facing healthcare, behavioral, housing, cultural, and psychosocial challenges, and focuses on helping them stay connected to care and improve health outcomes, including viral load suppression. Term & Workplace Term limited to 12/31/27, with the possibility of resignation earlier if funding ends. The position offers hybrid workplace options but may require reporting to the listed address based on supervisor discretion. Eligibility Open only to current residents of the State of Colorado. Key Responsibilities Receive training and guidance on navigation and support for persons living with HIV who are newly diagnosed, lapsed in care, medically vulnerable, or pregnant. Provide peer-based support utilizing shared experience and understanding to promote engagement in medical care and support services. Collaborate with Ryan White case managers to connect clients to available resources and services. Support clients in navigating healthcare, behavioral/mental healthcare, and substance‑use recovery systems. Contribute to community engagement activities for persons living with HIV. Attend meetings, serve on task forces or teams, complete projects, and perform other duties as directed by the supervisor. Preferred Qualifications Relevant experience with the State of Colorado. Experience assisting clients with scheduling healthcare or other social support appointments. Experience working with communities impacted by STI/HIV/VH. Ability to prioritize work, including planning and organizing assignments. Lived experience and skill in building trust with clients navigating Ryan White services. Experience conducting educational and outreach activities to reduce stigmas. Experience working with diverse populations. Excellent communication, trust‑building, motivation, and problem‑solving skills.
