2nd Shift Monday-Thursday 1PM-11PM

Summary

Prepares, verifies, documents, packages, and loads outgoing shipments in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and the Aerospace Standard 9100 Quality Management System. Ensures shipments are accurate, complete, properly identified, protected, and accompanied by all required documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities and methods required to meet established schedules.

·         Verifies each shipment includes all required documentation, including packing slips, material certifications, heat treatment certifications, and certificates of conformance when applicable.

·         Determines appropriate space requirements and positioning of shipments for loading into trucks or other transportation equipment.

·         Assists with determining routing and legal load limits according to established schedules and applicable weight requirements.

·         Loads crates and shipments to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and properly secures shipments for transportation.

·         Inspects material handling equipment for defects and submits a Maintenance Request Form when repair or service is required.

·         Maintains accurate records of unfilled orders and shipment status.

·         Records shipment weights and applicable shipping charges.

·         Prepares bills of lading and other required shipping documentation.

·         Reviews shipping methods and procedures and recommends improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.

·         Identifies and assists with correcting shipping errors, discrepancies, and customer complaints.

·         Ensures all materials and products are properly identified, packaged, protected, and handled according to applicable Quality Management System requirements.

·         Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shipping and staging area.

·         Follows all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Experience

Associate degree or equivalent education from a two-year college or technical school preferred; six months to one year of related shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shipping documents, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, customers, and transportation providers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, weights, measurements, and other mathematical concepts required for shipping activities.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect and review information, establish facts, identify discrepancies, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions provided in written, mathematical, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

The physical demands are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The position may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, moving, loading, and handling materials throughout the work shift. Work Environment

Manufacturing and shipping environment with exposure to material handling equipment, moving materials, production equipment, noise, and conditions associated with warehouse and manufacturing operations. Required personal protective equipment and company safety procedures must be followed.
