TRANSPORTER

Job Title

DEMONSTRATES COMPETENCY TO PERFORM TRANSPORTATION DUTIES REQUIRED BY THE HOSPITAL WHICH INCLUDE:

• Ensures the comfort of the patient while transporting
• Transports using wheelchairs and stretchers
• Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting
• Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TAT
• Communicates any delays back to department
• When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment
• Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc.
• In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as needed
• Assists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessary
• Maintains patient privacy when transporting
• Engages patient in conversation during the transport
• Makes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed
• Picks up medications from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floor

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalency 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.

CREDENTIALS + QUALIFICATIONS: BLS - AHA approved

Varied Schedule 48 hours per pay period 8 shifts
