CNC Machinist / Programmer We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong machine setup, programming, and troubleshooting capabilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and editing G-Code and M-Code at the machine controller, setting up CNC mills and lathes, and supporting production in a high-mix manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the machining process. Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Y-axis machines to meet production requirements. Program, edit, and troubleshoot G-Code and M-Code at the machine controller. Perform machine setups, prove out new programs, and optimize cycle times. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed. Perform daily machine maintenance and minor repairs. Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot machining and quality issues and communicate findings to management. Maintain tooling inventory and organize work areas according to company standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives and document process changes. Train and mentor less experienced machine operators on setup and machining best practices. Assist with secondary operations including deburring, inspection, and cleaning of parts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Essential Skills: Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience, including setup and programming. Demonstrated experience programming and editing G-Code and M-Code. Ability to program at the machine controller and make adjustments independently. Experience with CNC mills, lathes, and/or Y-axis machining centers. Experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Proficiency with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Consistent attendance, professionalism, and a proactive work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Advanced G-Code and M-Code programming experience highly preferred. Experience proving out new CNC programs and optimizing machining processes. Multi-axis machining experience is a plus. Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience preferred. Experience in a production machining environment. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Antioch, CA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
