Contentful Developer (copy) [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contentful Developer based in Australia.

As a Contentful Developer, you’ll play a hands-on role in a major digital transformation project, helping deliver a scalable and flexible headless CMS solution. You’ll design content models, build integrations, automate content operations, and support the evolution of the wider digital architecture. Working across frontend, backend, design, and content disciplines, you’ll turn business requirements into reusable and maintainable digital experiences. You’ll also contribute to content migration, localisation, governance, and delivery performance. The role offers the opportunity to work on an enterprise-scale transformation while using modern technologies and API-first approaches. You’ll join a collaborative, remote-first environment that values ownership, curiosity, clear communication, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement scalable Contentful content models, spaces, environments, and structures aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Build and maintain integrations between Contentful, modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, and Vue, and backend services through REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Develop custom automation scripts for content type creation, migration, and management using the Contentful App Framework, Content Management API, Content Delivery API, and relevant SDKs.
• Collaborate with content strategists, designers, and engineers to create flexible, reusable, and maintainable content structures.
• Optimise content delivery performance and support multi-locale and localisation requirements.
• Assist with the migration of legacy content into Contentful, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the process.
• Establish and maintain best practices for content governance, webhooks, content operations, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help ensure the CMS solution integrates effectively with the broader technology ecosystem.
• Communicate proactively with distributed team members and manage priorities effectively in a remote working environment.

Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of professional experience working with Contentful or a comparable headless CMS in production environments.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, with experience working with modern frontend frameworks.
• Hands-on familiarity with Contentful’s Content Management API (CMA), Content Delivery API (CDA), and GraphQL API.
• Strong understanding of content modelling principles, including designing structures for scalability, flexibility, and reuse.
• Solid knowledge of API-first and headless architecture principles.
• Experience developing integrations between CMS platforms, frontend applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Experience with Contentful Merge, Apps SDK, migration tooling, or similar capabilities is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience contributing to digital transformation, replatforming, or enterprise-scale technology projects is desirable.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD workflows for content and software deployment is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of deliverables in a fully remote environment.
• Current Australian work rights are required.
• Availability for an immediate start and commitment to a 3–4 month fixed-term contract .
