Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

Mindify Wellness and Care is hiring multiple New Jersey-licensed PMHNP-BCs to provide psychiatric services through telehealth and at our partner adult day centers in:

• Newark
• East Orange
• Elizabeth
• Totowa

Providers may select one or more onsite locations based on their availability. Spanish-speaking PMHNP-BCs may also be considered for fully telehealth roles with no onsite requirement.

Schedule

Our partner adult day centers generally operate Monday through Friday. Typical onsite hours are 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. , although schedules may vary by center.

Onsite coverage is generally needed one to three days per week , depending on each center’s needs and the provider’s availability. Telehealth visits may be scheduled on additional days.

Spanish-speaking providers interested in a fully telehealth role can discuss a schedule based on their availability and patient needs.

Compensation

• Completed initial psychiatric evaluations: $70–$90 per session
• Completed follow-up medication-management visits: $45–$60 per session

Rates are based on experience, credentials, qualifications, and clinical expertise. Compensation is for completed clinical sessions; cancellations and patient no-shows are not compensated.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
• Diagnose behavioral health conditions using DSM-5-TR criteria
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
• Develop and update treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress, medication effectiveness, and side effects
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and treatment options
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and other members of the treatment team
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis evaluations when clinically appropriate
• Follow HIPAA requirements, clinical standards, and organizational policies

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
• Active New Jersey RN license
• Active New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certification
• Current PMHNP-BC certification
• Active DEA registration
• Active New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration
• At least one year of experience as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
• For onsite roles: availability to provide care in Newark, East Orange, Elizabeth, and/or Totowa
• For fully telehealth roles: professional fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits in Spanish

Experience in outpatient behavioral health, telehealth, adult day centers, or working with diverse populations is preferred.

Position Details

This posting is for 1099 independent contractor opportunities. Mindify provides patient referrals and administrative support with scheduling and patient coordination.

Mindify also provides malpractice insurance coverage and a collaborative agreement for services delivered to Mindify patients. The coverage and collaborative agreement apply only while the provider is actively contracted with Mindify and do not extend to patients seen through the provider’s private practice or another organization.
