Collections Analyst - Direct Hire

Location: Bedford Heights, OH
Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Work Environment: Primarily onsite

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Analyst to join a collaborative and team-focused accounting department. This position is responsible for managing commercial collections, reducing outstanding receivables, and building strong customer relationships while supporting healthy cash flow for the organization.

This role is ideal for someone with collections experience or a strong customer service background who enjoys problem-solving, communicating with customers, and working as part of a close-knit team. Comprehensive training is provided for individuals who demonstrate the right attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial (B2B) collections activities for assigned customer accounts.
• Contact customers regarding past-due invoices through phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve short payments, disputed invoices, and payment discrepancies.
• Assess collection risks and recommend appropriate actions to minimize exposure.
• Maintain accurate account notes and collection records.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve customer issues impacting payment.
• Support process improvement initiatives designed to improve cash flow and reduce aged receivables.
• Build and maintain positive, long-term customer relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 1-2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, credit, customer service, or related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and business systems.
