Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Duration: 8 Months
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Lead Oracle to SQL Server 2022 migration and database modernization.
Design target data models, schemas, mappings, and migration approach.
Develop ETL/data conversion, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation processes.
Perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping, mock migrations, and production migration support.
Support BMP transformation logic and EPA/NEIEN XML/XSD generation and validation.
Support integrations with CEDS/TMDL IP, CGP, GIS/ArcGIS, VACS, and APIs.
Perform SQL/database performance tuning and data-quality validation.
Prepare database design, migration, ETL, reconciliation, and as-built documentation.
Support testing, UAT, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in data architecture, migration, ETL, or data engineering.
Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
Experience with Oracle-to-SQL Server or similar legacy data migrations.
Strong skills in data modeling, ETL, data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and data quality.
Experience with XML, XSD, XML parsing/generation, and schema validation.
Experience with REST APIs and data-intensive enterprise applications.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
P referred Qualifications
State or federal government modernization experience.
Environmental/regulatory data experience.
Experience with NEIEN, GIS/ArcGIS, GitLab/CI/CD, and public-sector reporting.
Experience with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Databricks, or similar ETL tools.
