Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Western North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Every other weekend required, flexible scheduling to meet department needs; no floating outside the Emergency Department

Highlights:

• 101-bed Level II trauma center Emergency Department serving a high-volume facility with over 100,000 annual visits
• Comprehensive stroke center with designated neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric emergency services
• Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
• Support staff includes dedicated techs for cardiac monitoring, triage, and internal processing, plus unit clerks available on all shifts
• Cerner documentation system with GE monitors and Baxter pumps
• Magnet-designated facility recognized as one of America's top hospitals for clinical quality and safety

Requirements:

• Current North Carolina RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually) preferred
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work in all sections of the Emergency Department
