Night Shipping Supervisor

Job Purpose/Objective:The Night Shipping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, focusing mainly on the Shipping Department. This role entails assisting in the management of activities, responsibilities, and staff within the shipping department to guarantee optimal productivity and a high degree of accuracy. It is a supervisory role that encompasses the operational and personnel functions of a designated section of the warehouse. Key responsibilities involve supervising hourly warehouse associates, offering leadership and guidance to meet safety objectives, productivity targets, accuracy benchmarks, cost reduction goals, and the development of warehouse staff.II. Essential Job Functions:Motivate selectors and loaders, and short order selectorsOrganizes the workflow of employees on respective shifts.Assign and monitor tasks using computers and scanners.Perform all required procedures and documentation in a safe and efficient manner to maintain the highest quality finished product for our customersHandles immediate disciplinary incidentsEnforces Company policies and proceduresDocuments Worker’s Compensation incidentsTrains new hires on GMPsManages shift time sheets and staffing associates time clocksProvides proper warehouse documentation as neededConducts daily/weekly/ monthly performance/ development reviewsHandles product discrepancies, product shortages and substitutionsMeets productivity output standards for the shiftResponsible for the cleanliness of the warehouseWilling to work any day of the week, weekends and HolidaysSupervisors return desk and short order areasInspecting Equipment, Product, or Material - Inspecting equipment, Product, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.III. Additional Job Functions:Participate in operations meetings when required.Reviews the performance of subordinatesLiaisons with different departments, i.e. Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Sales, Maintenance, Dispatch, TransportationSelf-starter, gets involved quickly, takes on difficult tasks with enthusiasm. Working Conditions/Job Environment:Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position:Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs. on a regular basisRequires repeated stooping and bendingFrequent lifting and carrying boxed/bagged fruits and vegetablesRequires continuous standing for extended periods of timeFrequently requires riding a motorized, stand-on pallet jackEnvironmental conditions (physical surroundings and hazards) are usually associated with this position:Working in a 45-degree (F) processing area for 8-10 hours dailyWorking in a damp environment for 8-10 hours on a daily basisModerately noisy environmentMinimum Qualifications Skills and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED2 years’ experience in shipping and warehousing2 years of supervisingSpanish language skills a plusSound knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, sanitation, and Food Safety concepts.Familiar with USDA/FDA guidelines.Knowledge of Current DOT regulationProficient operating stand-up, reach forklifts.PC skills to include Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and ExcelFlexible with change in the work assignments and prioritiesPreferred QualificationAssociate’s degree5 Years’ experience in the management of produce warehousing and shipping with multiple shifts.Change Management, SQF Program, Produce Pro Software proficiencyVery strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to take an idea from conception to executionManage job professionally and with a high level of organization.Ability to work and communicate with othersAbility to work in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to always practice safe working habitsAbility to work a rotating shift schedule with weekends, holidays and overtime #J-18808-Ljbffr
