Overview

Join a compassionate healthcare team supporting the administrative and clinical needs of OB/GYN physicians and licensed medical staff. This role involves assisting with patient vital signs, updating charts, compiling data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, contributing to a positive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being at all times.
• Accurately document patient care and interactions during visits and calls.
• Collect and process point-of-care, lab, and pathology samples following established protocols.
• Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies.
• Provide patient education as directed by healthcare providers.
• Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.
• Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
• Prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste per safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards.
• Manage supply inventory and ensure availability of necessary instruments.
• Support front desk functions such as greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
• Assist with coding and billing processes, including ICD and CPT input.
• Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
• Monitor electronic communications and respond promptly.
• Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
• Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
• Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as required.
• Flexibly float to other clinics as needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: Minimum of one year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
• Physical capability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Comfort with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
