Executive Director

Here at gpac we are working with a wonderful nonprofit organization that is looking for a new Executive Director to join their team. This will be an in office position with the potential of some travel in the service area to join donor meetings or things of that nature. As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, ensuring its continued growth, and making a significant impact on the mission. This is a senior leadership role that requires exceptional management skills, a deep understanding of the non-profit sector, and a passion for the cause.



Responsibilities:


1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan in collaboration with the board of directors, setting clear goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes.


2. Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including program management, budgeting, financial reporting, human resources, and administration, ensuring efficient and effective functioning.


3. Fundraising and Resource Development: Lead fundraising efforts by cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding agencies, writing grant proposals, organizing fundraising events, and diversifying revenue streams to ensure financial sustainability.


4. Board Relations: Work closely with the board of directors, providing regular updates, seeking guidance, and engaging board members in strategic decision-making processes.


5. External Relations and Partnerships: Represent the organization externally, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and partner organizations, and advocate for the organization's mission and goals.


6. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the organization's staff, fostering a positive work culture, promoting professional development, and ensuring effective team collaboration and performance.


7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the organization's operations, reputation, or achievement of strategic objectives.


8. Awareness of Sector Trends: Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and policy changes in the non-profit sector, and adapt organizational strategies accordingly.



Qualifications:


- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred)


- Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in the non-profit sector


- Proven track record of successful organizational leadership, strategic planning, and program management


- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting


- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations


- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills


- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including board members, staff, donors, and community partners


- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities


- Knowledge of and commitment to the organization's mission and values
