Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

LPN Position at Stony Point Primary Care ClinicWe are a fast-paced primary care clinic at Stony Point that is primarily comprised of patient services in internal medicine and family medicine. We are also home to a few other specialties that rotate during the week and we continue to grow to meet the needs of our community! Our team is made up of RNs, LPNs, and CMAs and we are excited to add a new team member to our family. We value getting to really know our patients and working closely with their providers in order to best meet their needs and create a positive patient experience. This is a part-time position that requires a 20 hour/week commitment, Monday-Friday hours only. Our team members enjoy free parking onsite at the Stony Point campus.The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level. The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Licensure, certification or registration varies depending on the incumbent’s employment background and transitional assignment; LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible licensure.Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current LPN Licensure in Virginia AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.Experience REQUIRED:Varies based on transitional duty assignment.Experience PREFERRED:Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.Education/training REQUIRED:Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.Education/training PREFERRED: N/A.Independent action(s) required:Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A.Additional position requirements:Age Specific groups served: As appropriate based on transitional duty assignment.Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate):Physical: Lifting 50-100 lbs.Other: Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.Activities: Prolonged standing, Prolonged sitting, Frequent bending, Walking (distance), Climbing (steps, ladder, other), Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking.Emotional: Steady pace, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Noisy environment, Able to adapt to frequent, change.
