Supervision Received: Reports to clinical director/COO/CEO

General Summary of Duties:

Responsible for assisting physicians or physician assistants (PA-C) with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling with intergy and chart management through chart logic. Provides information to patients to utilize and benefit clinic services.

Essential Job Functions:

Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules daily, organizing patient flow, checking for incoming medical records, accompanying patient to exam/procedure room, assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exams, collecting patient histories, taking patients vitals, fulfill meaningful use requirements, performing screenings per guidelines, assisting physicians with various procedures, documentation in chart logic, relaying instructions to patients/families under HIPPA guidelines, answering phone calls, chart logic messages and providing pertinent patient education. Follow all COVID 19 guidelines for safety, patient care (MT health dept & CDC guidelines)

Fulfill clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: sending/receiving medical records, obtaining lab and /or x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information. Completing forms, requisitions as needed, scheduling appointments, verifying demographic patient information with chart logic, managing patient information (medical histories, demographics, pharmacy, general medical physician) through chart logic to ensure information is complete and appropriate.

Fulfill environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol, cleaning exam / procedure rooms, cleaning instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. Cleaning autoclave according to scheduled maintenance program. Ordering storing and restocking supplies in exam / procedure rooms,.

Fulfill organizational responsibilities as assigned which may include: respecting / promoting patients rights (HIPPA guidelines), responding appropriately to emergency codes, sharing problems relating to patients and / or staff with immediate supervisor. Follow current PPE restrictions /policy (MT health dept & CDC recommendations) within the company, covering other areas of clinical department to include triage department, all COE departments, and service to other physician's.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma and documented registered or documented certified medical assistant certification. Documented licensed or registered nursing certification. Documented CPR certification.

Obtain appropriate certification indicating renewal of specialty (R-MA, CMA, and CPR)

Experience:

Medical experience, medical terminology, medical related courses

Knowledge:

Healthcare field and medical specialties

Assisting tasks particular to the COE specialty

Applying COVID 19 guidelines from State Health Dept / CDC to patient care

Information that is conveyed to patient and families under HIPPA guidelines

EMR system (electronic medical records, Chart logic, document manager)

Anatomy

Environmental / Working Conditions:

Combination of medical office and nurse's station, well lighted, well ventilated, adequate space.

Exposure to open wounds, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to clinical settings

Physical / Mental demands:

Clinical staff must use appropriate body mechanics when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Standing / sitting 8-12 hours a day, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, reaching above, pulling, pushing, lifting 0-10 lbs frequently and 50-100 lbs occasionally and fine manipulation in a 6-10 hour day.
