Residential Counselor

Overview FSRI is seeking a Relief position at Lucy's Hearth in Middletown, RI. This role provides flexible evening shifts, with potential 1 to 2 shifts Monday through Friday, shifts every other weekend, and/or some overnight sleep shifts. Limited holiday hours may be required. The ideal candidate will have strong oral, written, and electronic communication skills and experience working with women and children or in residential settings. Responsibilities Provide supervision of women and children in an emergency shelter setting. Maintain resident safety and ensure house rules are followed according to the Policy & Procedures Manual. Foster an environment that promotes the physical and mental well-being of each resident. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a social work-related field or significant residential/childcare experience. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled. Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic issues. Ability to implement appropriate child management techniques, including positive modeling and instruction for parents. Excellent communication skills. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, registration, inspection, and driving record. Bilingual skills are compensated with an additional 6% above base pay.
