Litigation Secretary

Career Opportunities with Fisher Phillips LLP Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Secretary to join our team. In this essential role, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our services, directly supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional client service and upholding our commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities Formatting briefs, pleadings, correspondence and other legal documents. Filing of legal documents with state and federal courts (e-filing knowledge required). Regularly and accurately proofreading all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing. Updating and maintaining client files. Maintaining attorney calendars through Outlook and Milana Docketing system (i.e. scheduling appointments, calendaring due dates, etc.). Organizing and coordinating travel arrangements for assigned attorneys. Accurately entering, reviewing and revising timekeeper timesheets, including consistent identification of litigation codes when applicable. Preparing attorney reimbursements and mileage. Reviewing and ensuring accuracy of vendor invoices; preparing accurate check requests and timely submitting invoices for payment to client or accounting. Participating in the timely review and submission of pre-bills and/or client bills. Requirements Minimum of a high school diploma required (College degree is preferred but not required). A minimum of five years of experience as a legal secretary is required. Proficiency with Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, Pacer, ECF, iManage or a document management system, Milana Docketing, and Concur Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and legal processes in the Litigation Department, including the ability to mark and generate a table of contents and table of authorities. Accurate typing at a net speed of 65+ wpm (shorthand/speed writing a plus). Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Time Entry, e-filing and database software. The hourly rate range for this position is $29.44 - $46.15. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
