Occupational Therapist

Job Title

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform independent OT evaluations, reviewing medical records, conducting tests, interpreting results, and developing treatment plans for Veterans with spinal cord injury/disease.
  • Implement, modify, and document treatment plans across inpatient, outpatient, and home-care settings; involve patients, families, and caregivers in goal-setting.
  • Select, recommend, and adjust adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and specialty devices based on patient needs.
  • Recognize and respond to adverse reactions to treatment and apply appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including consults, progress notes, discharge plans, workload data, and quality monitoring.
  • Ensure a safe, clean treatment environment following VA, SCI, OSHA, CARF, JCAHO, and infection control standards.
  • Participate in continuing education, maintain clinical competency, and provide instruction to OT students and volunteers.
  • Support administrative tasks including equipment requisitions, data tracking, program evaluation, and compliance with computer security requirements.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
