Job Title: Construction Inspector 

Location: Mercerville, NJ

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to support a major infrastructure resiliency project in New Jersey. The role involves overseeing the installation of distributed generation component power systems across multiple critical transit facilities including bus maintenance centers, train stations, and ferry terminals. This is a full-time position ideal for professionals experienced in field inspection and construction oversight, particularly in electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations. 

• Oversee the installation of distributed power generation systems across various transit-related sites. 

• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure project milestones are met. 

• Document progress through detailed field reports, photos, and logs. 

• Conduct inspections of mechanical, electrical, and structural work, ensuring quality and adherence to standards. 

• Identify potential issues and recommend solutions to ensure continuous progress and safety compliance. 

• Ensure all construction activities meet project requirements and timelines. 

Project Background: 

This project is part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure resiliency in the wake of major weather events and potential power outages. The upgrades will ensure sustained operations for up to two weeks at several key locations across New Jersey. 

Qualifications: 

• 3–5 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably with infrastructure or transit-related projects. 

• Knowledge of distributed generation systems and experience inspecting mechanical, electrical, and structural components. 

• Strong understanding of construction standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. 

• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to travel to multiple job sites across New Jersey as required.
