Main responsibilities of a cashier: Managing transactions, making sure pricing is accurate Accepting payments and providing receipts Bagging purchased goods Cashier Job Description: Cashiers wanted at Pemberton Farms Marketplace, a third-generation family-owned unique specialty grocery store and garden center in North Cambridge, operating since 1930. Our sprawling retail business includes a busy gourmet deli and catering services, a full liquor section and a growing gift basket e-commerce division. If Pemberton Farms sounds like the place for you, we’re interested in talking to you! Applicants must be at least 18 years old (by state law to handle liquor). Our store hours are 7am to 9pm Sunday through Thursday, and 7am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Opening shifts begin at 6am, and closers can expect to stay approximately 30 minutes after the store closing. We are currently looking for full-time or part-time staff member to fill 3-5 night shifts a week, from 2-4pm until closing at 9:30pm (Sunday-Thursday) or 10:30pm (Friday/Saturday) Responsibilities of a Cashier: Greeting customers when entering and leaving the premises Managing transactions using a cash register Balancing the cash register Scanning goods and making sure pricing and quantities are accurate Accepting payments in cash, credit or check Providing change and receipts Issuing coupons, vouchers, stamps and gift cards Processing returns and refunds, and resolving customer complaints Bagging and wrapping purchased goods for safe transport Upselling and cross-selling when appropriate Cashier Job Requirements: Must have at least a high school degree Experience with POS systems and cash registers Basic computer knowledge Good math skills Excellent communication skills Ability to effectively resolve complaints From the time he opened his fruit and vegetable shop in 1930, Granddad Tofic Saidnawey packed every order with only premium-quality fruit.
