Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to surgical patients across a variety of procedures, including orthopedics, robotics, and neurology. The role requires clinical expertise in assessment, patient safety, documentation, and patient education within a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Valid RN license required; BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of OR nursing experience.
• Job Functions:
  • Demonstrate assessment skills, knowledge of growth and development stages, and deliver appropriate patient care.
  • Perform direct patient care activities supporting the team and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress.
  • Exhibit professionalism and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to patients, families, and co-workers, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follow safety standards including Universal Protocol and patient identification procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment relevant to surgical patients; individualize care based on procedure and anesthesia type.
  • Prioritize and assume responsibility for patient care, adapting to changes in patient conditions.
  • Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and education, involving patients and families in teaching.
  • Support patient testing and evaluate pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness.
