Responsibilities Provide operational and clinical leadership for a busy Emergency Department Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and day‑to‑day department operations Foster a collaborative, patient‑centered culture focused on safety, quality, and service excellence Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development of nursing staff Ensure competency validation, staff education, and ongoing clinical development in partnership with education teams Monitor and improve key quality and performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, throughput, and clinical outcomes Drive process improvement initiatives and participate in quality committees and performance improvement planning Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements Support shared governance and staff engagement through councils and advisory committees Partner with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, EMS partners, and hospital leadership Participate in leadership rounding, environment of care rounds, and safety initiatives Manage department budgets, FTEs, and resource allocation to meet operational targets Promote evidence‑based practice, clinical inquiry, and continuous improvement Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing considered with experience. Master’s degree (MSN) preferred Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required (Emergency Department experience strongly preferred) Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a hospital setting required Basic Life Support (BLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days of hire TNCC, NRP, and CPI training preferred (or obtained within the required timeframe)Certification in Emergency Nursing or Nursing Leadership preferred Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills Ability to manage operations in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists
