General Surgeon

Classification Minimum Requirements MD/DO and Board eligible or Board certified in General Surgery. Unrestricted Florida medical license (must have or obtain). Job Description The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville seeks a General Surgeon at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level. The position involves building an elective general surgery practice, providing education to medical students and residents, and contributing to a diverse academic general surgery program focused on minimally invasive and advanced gastrointestinal surgery. No trauma calls required. Responsibilities Provide and maintain high-quality patient care in General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Teach and supervise trainees in General Surgery and actively participate in the educational program. Maintain excellent communication with primary care physicians, consulting services, and other referring providers. Assist in marketing the General Surgery program to community physicians and managed care organizations. Participate in division and department meetings, administrative functions, and institutional committees as requested. Required Qualifications MD or DO, Board eligible or Board certified in General Surgery. Unrestricted Florida medical license. Preferred Qualifications Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery or Advanced GI Surgery. Benefits Salary and academic appointment are negotiable. Benefits are excellent. No trauma calls.
