Lamination Technician

Position Overview Performs elementary and routine mix and lay‑up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools. Utilizes open mold and vacuum infusion processes. Works with resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives. Installs wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds. Operates a variety of power tools including saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists. Locates parts by hand or by using detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and fixtures. Sanding of fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds. Essential Functions Must follow all safety standards and procedures, including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective Equipment. Ability to use hand, battery, and pneumatic tools. Ability to read a tape measure. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include respirators, gloves, chemical‑resistant aprons, and chemical‑resistant suits. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, noisy environment. Required Qualifications Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching, as well as climbing on and through stairs, molds, and staging throughout the shift. Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime, both planned and unplanned, to meet company goals. Adherence to all quality standards and willingness to adopt new standards as processes evolve. Demonstrated record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experience. Ability to work well with team professionals. Understanding and following verbal and written directions. Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers and in areas with limited space. Preferred Qualifications Ability to read and understand blueprints. Skills in forklift, overhead hoist, computer, fiberglass and/or gel‑coat applications preferred. 3+ years of manufacturing experience; marine industry experience highly preferred. Working Conditions May be required to work in a non‑air‑conditioned area. Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, noisy environment. Salary and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.90 to $22.50 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
