Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse (PACU)

Shift

• Day 4x10-Hour Shifts (10:00 AM - 8:30 PM; 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
• No weekends required
• Floating to other campuses may be required based on census

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides individualized nursing care utilizing knowledge of peri-anesthesia nursing and pharmacology. The candidate will apply the nursing process to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients throughout their care from admission to discharge.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care adhering to peri-anesthesia nursing standards.
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments and airway management.
• Administer and monitor medications, understanding doses, purposes, interactions, side effects, and reactions.

Qualifications

• Current California RN Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU RN experience, preferably in a high-acuity care hospital or ICU
• Cath Lab experience is preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
• Proficiency in airway assessment and management
• Experience with various surgical procedures including but not limited to craniotomy, laparoscopic procedures, and vascular surgery
• Ability to manage ventilated patients and administer sedation
• Knowledge of pharmacology related to anesthesia and critical care

Patient Care and Staff Interactions

• Provide care for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Facility Details

Daily patient census is approximately 40-50, with a patient care team utilizing Epic for charting.

• Must complete required onboarding labs within 3-5 days of hire.
• Work history verification covering the past 7 years is required.
• Orientation will last for approximately 24 hours and may include modules relevant to the position.
