Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide technical leadership for our clients and staff on a variety of Power sector projects with a focus in Routing and Siting. This position will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team that provides the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of projects, including support to public utilities, new electric transmission and rebuild projects, project access road planning and design, substation and battery storage facility design, and solar due diligence and permitting. Our staff members have established excellent working relationships with utilities and Power sector developers, and our knowledge and interdisciplinary expertise allow us to help our clients develop the most effective and innovative approaches to their environmental / engineering compliance goals.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Sr. Project Manager or Project Technical Lead for projects, with responsibility for project delivery.

• Serve as a Regional Routing Siting Lead developing routing and siting team within your region and supporting the National Team.

• Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business.

• Develop Regional Routing and Siting Team to deliver routing and siting services to utilities in the Midwest and across the Nation.

• Provide Expert Witness Testimony in Support of Routing and Siting Projects to local Public Service Commissions

• Provide technical leadership for projects in various parts of the US, performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver the completed project.

• Work with more junior staff to Routing and Siting Projects focused on delivery of GIS materials and deliverables.

• Task coordination related to Routing and Siting, GPS data collection, agency consultations, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and water quality permitting.

• Prepare budgets and identify tasks while carrying out project work within agreed timeframes and on budget and within the Stantec PM framework.

• Coordinate work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

• Perform quality assurance/ quality control reviews of environmental deliverables.

• Direct subcontracted services and managing project budgets, schedules, and teams.

• Supporting and ensuring implementation of Stantec Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Demonstrated expertise in Routing and Siting and GIS processes as they relate to the routing and Siting Process.

• Knowledge of state & federal laws & regulations and applicable policies & procedures to advise others on interpretations & experiences with routing and siting and licensing .

• Skilled with a “hands-on” individual experienced in managing Routing and Siting projects .

• Skilled in verbal and written communications, including advanced technical writing abilities, regulatory agency negotiations, and requests for proposals responses.

• Skilled at prioritizing, organizing, managing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.

• Skilled with computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook.

• Ability to prepare, read and interpret scientific/technical documents and plans for the affects/impacts to environmental resources,

• Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment and meet project schedules, deadlines, and budgets.

• Ability to work with initiative, professionalism, confidentiality, and is able to work independently, multi-task and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with the strong ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships amongst the team and client.

• The successful candidate will be self-motivated, self-directed, and possess the ability to make sound business decisions.

• Expert Witness Experience a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Studies, Policy, Planning, Geology, or related discipline preferred.

• 15 years of experience specific to routing and siting or regulatory practice in the environmental field.
