Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift) Women’s Health | Ashe Memorial Hospital | West Jefferson, NC At Ashe Memorial Hospital, our mission guides everything we do: “To meet the needs of the community by delivering patient-centered, high-quality health care.” Position Highlights Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Night Shift (schedule varies) Department: Labor & Delivery Location: West Jefferson, NC Travel: None required Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience Incentives: Up to $15,000 Commitment Bonus; Relocation Assistance Available Position Overview The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled, compassionate care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and immediate recovery. This role is essential in ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for both mothers and newborns. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients during labor and delivery Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to changes in condition Support patients and families throughout the childbirth and recovery process Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation Respond effectively to high-acuity and emergency situations Promote a safe, patient-centered care environment Minimum Qualifications Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state Certification: Basic Life Support (CPR) – required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 6 months Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of Labor & Delivery or relevant nursing experience preferred Core Competencies Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism Employment Requirements Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits Comprehensive benefits begin the first of the month following employment, in accordance with hospital policy.
