In this position, you MUST be able to train for 1 month on the first shift, 7 am - 3:30pm.What you will experience in this position:Set up and run brake press machinery, including choosing tooling and adjusting programs.Interpret blueprints, schematics, and job routings to determine machine settings and production requirements.Perform trial runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and part consistency.Conduct in-process inspections, verifying parts meet tolerances and quality standards.Follow safety protocols, maintain clean work areas, and perform minor maintenance.Meet daily production targets for accuracy, speed, and quality while minimizing waste.You have:High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education is a plus.2-5 years of experience working with brake press machinery in a manufacturing setting.Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop math required.Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including protractors, calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges, is required. Candidates must be able to accurately read measurements to 1/32 of an inch.Previous knowledge of the construction industry is highly preferred.Ability to drive a forklift preferred.Experience with CNC/programmed brake press equipment preferred.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or 5S is advantageous.Basic computer skills for entering production or quality data.Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.Work is performed in a manufacturing setting that may not be climate-controlled and can include exposure to varying temperatures. nVent is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.WE HAVE:A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
