Senior Medical Director, Clinical Development- Neurology

Senior Director of Clinical Development position at Kite (Gilead Sciences) overseeing clinical trials and leading project teams to design and implement cancer therapy studies. Reports to senior leadership while managing cross-functional teams and providing medical oversight for drug development programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and medical monitoring to one or more clinical trials
• Lead project teams in designing and implementing clinical studies aligned with corporate goals
• Write protocols, investigator brochures, clinical study reports, and regulatory documents
• Conduct investigator meetings and lead site initiation visits with clinical trial investigators
• Develop and deploy drug development strategic plans, manage budgets and timelines

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with 6+ years clinical research or drug development experience
• Board certification or specialization in neurology preferred
• Experience designing, implementing, and conducting phase 1-3 clinical trials
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong strategic leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate independently in dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

Compensation: Bay Area: $302,005–$390,830; Other US locations: $274,550–$355,300 base salary
