Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C)Harborview - Sexual Health Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).Work ScheduleFull-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)Monday-FridayDay ShiftDepartment DescriptionThe Sexual Health Clinic is a Public Health-Seattle & King County service that provides confidential STD and HIV evaluation, screening, testing and treatment on a sliding-fee scale.Position HighlightsConveniently located near public transportationMake a difference for the patients and employees we serveOpportunity to provide career growthPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesRoom patients, take vital signs, and reconcile recordsPerform injectionsPrepare and clean exam roomsSubmit medication prior authorizationsRecognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to providerAct as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providersAssist provider with procedures and medical examsPerform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory valuesAssist in transporting patients as requiredRequirementsCompletion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalentMust be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
