The unit focuses on trauma patients who are hemodynamically and medically stable. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with occasional 1:7 on rare occasions. Floating may occur to other units within the facility. RNs will work 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Weekend shifts will include Saturdays and Sundays or Friday nights and Saturday nights. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Pending licenses will be accepted, but they must be in hand prior to the start date. Candidates must wear designated scrubs while on duty. RNs are part of an interdisciplinary team supporting various services for patient care. The focus is on both acute and chronic needs for trauma patients. The ideal candidate should not have prior experience as a first-time traveler. Recent EPIC charting experience is mandatory, within the last 2 years. Candidate skillsets must include management of various types of drips and advanced patient care protocols. All RNs must adhere to a 100% nicotine-free policy within the facility. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care in a dynamic environment.
