Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: - Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required - Telemetry test required prior to start - Previous charge experience preferred - Travel experience required Description: This position involves day and night shifts, requiring 12-hour work periods. The nurse will work in a dynamic environment, providing care for patients requiring specialized interventions. The nursing team consists of charge nurses and staff nurses ensuring comprehensive patient care. Patient assignments typically range from 1-2 patients, with potential for 3 general care patients in low acuity situations. The unit supports a wide range of acuity levels, necessitating flexibility in assignments throughout a shift. Nurses will care for patients with various cardiac and thoracic conditions, including CABG, valve repairs, and transplants. The unit has 27 private rooms and employs an interdisciplinary team for extended patient support. Staff will utilize advanced medical equipment such as CRRT, IABP, and ECMO. Responsibilities include managing ventilated patients and administering medication and therapies. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Nurses are expected to maintain high standards of patient care and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to navigate complex clinical scenarios. This position does not require COVID-19 vaccination but requires a flu vaccination, with exemptions considered for medical or religious reasons.
