Ceded Reinsurance Consultant, Reinsurance Placement (Remote)

Job Summary Key Ceded Reinsurance Consultant role reports to the P&C Reinsurance Placement Leader. Responsible for developing and executing strategies to enable effective risk transfer solutions for Alternative Ventures and Specialty Finance portfolios. Responsibilities Lead treaty placement activities: set placement strategy, direct broker and reinsurer engagement, negotiate program terms, and align with enterprise risk and capital objectives. Provide leadership throughout the placement lifecycle, driving timely execution and optimizing market outcomes. Support corporate treaty renewals and develop renewal data strategy and marketing materials. Collaborate with legal to review, negotiate, and finalize contract language. Maintain and manage reinsurance policies, procedures, and reporting standards. Advise on contract language interpretation and coordinate compliance with accounting and reporting standards. Lead and coordinate reinsurance claims recovery processes, including communication with brokers and reinsurers. Partner on process improvements, project initiatives, and system enhancements related to reinsurance. Negotiate insurance and reinsurance placements and recoveries, including arbitration, litigation or commutation of claims. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting or related field. Eight years of experience in risk management, property and casualty reinsurance underwriting, claims, or accounting; project management experience preferred. Knowledge of risk management, insurance, ceded reinsurance practices and related legal and actuarial principles. Strong analytical, technical and communication skills; ability to manage complex insurance/reinsurance issues. Strong decision‑making and project management aptitude. Preferred certifications: CPCU, CLU, ARM, ARe. Location Columbus, OH; Scottsdale, AZ; Des Moines, IA. Remote candidates with critical industry skills may also be considered.
