Preventative Maintenance Technician

Smurfit WestRock, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable operations in our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production and packaging equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, document work in our maintenance systems, and collaborate closely with production, engineering, and safety teams. This on-site role is ideal for technicians who value safety, sustainability, and hands‑on problem solving in a fast‑paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment to minimize downtime Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment status in CMMS or logs Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability Follow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to plan maintenance Assist with equipment startups, changeovers, and minor installations or upgrades Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance practices and equipment performance Maintain tools, parts, and maintenance work areas in clean, organized condition Support training of operators on basic equipment care and safe operation Required Skills Preventive maintenance planning and execution Mechanical systems repair (gearboxes, conveyors, bearings) Basic industrial electrical troubleshooting Reading technical drawings and equipment manuals Use of hand and power tools safely CMMS or digital maintenance logging Pneumatic and hydraulic systems basics Lockout/Tagout and industrial safety practices Welding and fabrication basics (preferred) Root cause analysis for equipment failures #J-18808-Ljbffr
