Bartender

Hotel AKA Boston Common is hiring for a Part-Time Bartender !

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our dynamic team in a vibrant hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and customer service, with the ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. This role requires proficiency in various POS systems, including Aloha and Micros, and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the bar's efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Engage with guests, providing exceptional customer service while taking drink orders and offering recommendations.
• Operate POS systems (Aloha, Micros) for order entry and payment processing.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food service for patrons at the bar.
• Monitor inventory levels of beverages and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
• Ensure all drinks are prepared according to standard recipes while maintaining quality control.
• Participate in training sessions on food safety, brewing techniques, and cocktail preparation as required.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests.
• Proficiency in Aloha POS and Micros POS systems is preferred.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
• Knowledge of sales techniques to promote menu items effectively.
• Previous fine dining or nightclub experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is essential.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and drink preparation measurements.
• Experience in food service, catering, or banquet settings is an advantage.
