Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Shape the future for students by providing specialized support through this contract opportunity for experienced Special Education professionals. Several openings are available, working with both elementary and middle school students primarily in moderate-level classrooms, many of which serve students with autism.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana SPED certification or valid Louisiana teaching certificate with willingness to work toward SPED endorsement
• Experience working in special education settings, preferably including K/1 or middle school
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
• Collaborative mindset for partnering with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Effective communication skills to partner with families and school teams
• High level of professionalism and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learners
• Collect data and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Manage classroom behavior, providing structure and positive reinforcement
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation
• Support social, emotional, and academic development of each student
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates student strengths

This role offers consistent hours—37.5 per week—across the academic year beginning August 2026 and ending May 2027. Both K/1 and middle school positions are available, with classrooms designed to support moderate special education needs. Candidates must work onsite and be committed to providing a supportive, safe, and engaging classroom experience.
